This Credenza unit was inspired by the snowy splines created by nature and incredibly steep slopes on the mountains above Haines Alaska. Everywhere you look at this piece there is another little detail waiting to catch your eye. From the Hand carved spline panels to the waterfall detailed Spotted Gum top to the Icy white film faced Birch plywood that makes up the carcass to the Dark shimmering steel base reflective of the Shale rock that makes up the mountains on which the beautiful snowy splines are formed. A statement to say the least, this piece is the flagship of a growing range of pieces that posses these elements. To try and keep some natural feel about this Paint coated unit all the panels were constructed from Recycled Douglas Fir (Oregon) a species native to the Alaskan and Western North American region, a fitting homage to the home of the piece’s inspiration.

Lars from Leaf Handcrafted Furniture impressed us from the start. We ordered a custom bed design, but we weren't 100% sure on what we wanted. We spoke to Lars and he helped us by going through some design concepts and coming up with a few ideas & sketches, right through to the realisation of the end product. Each detail was thought up and brought to life!- Chantelle
Leaf is an acronym for “Live. Environmental. Architectural. Functional” this relates to Lars & Leesa's every day life.
Leaf Handcrafted Furniture has grown from a dream and a love of creating eye catching pieces made from materials that have a story to tell. Although inspired by our surroundings and the things that fill them we strive to make pieces that are unique in nature.
Lars Laug is the Maker at “Leaf Handcrafted Furniture”. Canadian born, Lars started out as a ski technician during and after school. He moved to western Canada to pursue his love of skiing. We enjoy making creative pieces often inspired either by materials, environments or even the clients that the piece is made for! We are always striving to create with a high standard so that each piece can be kept for a lifetime and beyond. That in mind each piece doesn’t cost the earth!
